LOTS has happened in the weeks since the last post! The most notable thing would be failing my glucose test at the OB this week. This means that my body is not processing sugar as quickly as it should, so I'm at risk for gestational diabetes. Eek. I have to go back next week for a three hour blood draw that will determine if I do, in fact, have GD. At any rate, I have to start cutting back on bread, pasta & sweets and replace it with mounds of vegetable, fruits and whole grains. With pasta being pretty much my favorite food... this is going to be an interesting 2.5 months.
I have been slacking on the belly pics, so I just had my friend Natalie take one in her office.... ignore the manilla folder covering up the heat vent, it gets cold in here!
How far along: 27 weeks
Weight Gain: 23 lbs.
Maternity clothes: Yes! Plus Clay's shirts and hoodies since I can officially no longer fit into my lounge shirts.
Stretch marks: Nothing yet!
Belly button in or out: Half & half?
Sleep:Pretty good! I wake up on my back a lot and start to feel suffocated, but the Bump Nest pregnancy pillow is pretty magnificent. Clay and Sydney both steal it when I am not using it... as seen below.
Best moment this week: Hearing that baby is healthy and measuring right on pace!
Worst moment this week: Definitely failing the glucose test.
Miss anything: Due to my most recent glucose failing, I'm adding pasta, girl scout cookies, PB&Js, and cereal to this list.
Movement: Tons! So much that I can watch my stomach shift from one side to another.
Cravings: Sweets--- which is probably because I know I am very limited in this category now.
Queasy or sick: Feel great!
Looking forward to: Finishing the nursery... more progress every week!
As you can see, Sydney enjoys the pregnancy pillow as much as me, maybe more. Puts her right to sleep!
Another great moment of the week was visiting my first Kids consignment sale. This was, to put it mildly, intense. Hundreds upon hundreds of women waiting in line and holding on to their finds to avoid any and all who may look like they want to take it. I actually became one of these women as I found this little gem of a pac n' play. It's pretty similar to the one on our registry, gently used, of course, and 1/3 of the cost of the one we picked out! I was sold. Just a little soap and hot water and it's good as new! Some things slightly gross me out being second-hand, but I felt like this was probably ok.
Lastly, a nursery update! We are moving right along and have started putting pieces in the room. I will dedicate an entire post to the finished project, but for now, here is the view from opening the door!
